Boo Haul Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what data the game Boo Haul collects, how it is used and shared, and the choices you have. It applies to Boo Haul on every platform where it is released: "Boo Haul: Co-op Horror" on Steam and "Boo Haul: Multiplayer Horror" on Google Play and the App Store. Boo Haul is made by BluexFlame ("we", "us"). You can reach us at phamthiphuong.blueflame@gmail.com.
Data we collect
- Game account. When you first open the game, our game server creates an account linked to your device, so you can play without signing up. On Steam, your account is linked to your Steam ID, which Steam verifies for us.
- Game data. Your progress, heroes, items, currencies, quests, match results, scores and rankings.
- Device and technical data. Device model, operating system, game version, IP address, session length, and performance data such as frame rate and memory use, plus error and crash reports, so we can keep the game running and fix problems.
- Purchases. When you buy gems, the payment is handled by Google Play, the App Store or Steam. We receive the product, the price and an order or receipt identifier so we can deliver your purchase. We never receive your card or bank details.
- Voice and text chat. In online co-op you can talk to other players by voice and send text messages. Voice chat uses your microphone only after you allow it and turn voice on. Your voice and messages are sent to the other players in your room.
Boo Haul does not show ads, and we do not sell your personal data.
How we use your data
- To run the game: keep your account and progress, match you with other players, run online rooms and chat, and deliver purchases.
- To keep the game fair and safe: detect cheating and fraud, handle refunds, and act on reports about abusive players.
- To improve the game: understand performance and crashes, and balance the game.
- To answer you when you contact us.
Who we share it with
- Other players see what you do and say in a match, including your voice and chat messages. You can block a player in the game to stop hearing them and seeing their chat.
- Service providers that run parts of the game for us, under their own privacy terms: Epic Games (Epic Online Services, for online rooms, voice and text chat), Unity Technologies (Unity Gaming Services, for sign-in and multiplayer networking), and the companies that host our game servers.
- Platforms. Google, Apple and Valve process your purchases and, on Steam, your sign-in.
- Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect players and the game from fraud and abuse.
Your data may be processed in countries other than the one you live in.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and game data while your account is active, and delete it when you ask us to. We may keep purchase records for as long as tax and accounting laws require.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account. Email us at the address above with the platform you play on (Android, iOS or Steam) and, if you can, a screenshot of your in-game profile. We will confirm the request and delete your account and its data. The "Erase Data" button in the game's Settings resets your progress; it does not delete your account.
- Access or correct your data. Email us and we will send you a copy of your data or correct it.
- Voice chat. You can turn voice chat off at any time, and you can withdraw microphone access in your device settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law, such as the right to object to or restrict how we use your data. Contact us to use them.
Children
Boo Haul is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We will post any change to this policy on this page and update the date at the top.
